State Rep. Tim Ozinga to Host Free Document Shredding & Food Drive Event

State Representative Tim Ozinga (R – Mokena) invites residents of the 37th Legislative House District to take advantage of a free document-shredding event on Saturday, June 26th at Mokena Elementary School at 11244 Willowcrest Ln in Mokena. The truck will be available from 9 AM to 11 AM.

“My hope as state representative is to serve the people the best I can. I am thrilled to continue to great work of my predecessor to provide this service to help destroy sensitive documents,” Rep. Ozinga stated.

Rep. Ozinga is partnering with a local business, PROSHRED, to provide the truck. Drivers are to follow signs and bring their vehicles up to the truck, where volunteers will be on-hand to unload documents. The shredding truck will accept no more than two boxes of shreddable documents from each vehicle. It cannot take electronics for recycling or disposal.

Rep. Ozinga continued, “many of our neighbors are still struggling from the governor’s shutdown orders. I am encouraging my fellow neighbors and participants in the free shredding event to bring non-perishable food and other items to donate.”

The Frankfort Food Pantry is the primary beneficiary of the drive. The pantry accepts traditional foods like non-perishables, canned pasta, canned fruit, granola bars, soups, peanut butter, jelly, and condiments. In addition, they also collect other products like feminine hygiene products, lotions, toilet paper, and shampoo and conditioner.
